After being in retail for 31 years, it becomes part of your DNA! It was the perfect thing for me, to start another retail venture, with my husband of 51 years!
As to what my new retail store would be, it was easy to decide! My love of Christmas has always been my favorite season! So, began Encore the Christmas Store!
I wanted Encore to be all about making memories! We decorated the store to hopefully, inspire our customers to make their home a place for Christmas Memories!
Our first year was great! Many previous, as well as many new customers came through our doors!
Among the memories we made our first year are, Christmas Open House, Christmas Classes, visit with Santa, Decorating Christmas Cookies Class, Christmas Carols performed by a group of young people from Backdoor Theatre, and a steel band group from Wichita Christian School!
Also, being Downtown Wichita Falls has been an inspiration of its own! We are constantly reminded of the nostalgic history of the beautiful buildings, and love coming to work each day! When you visit Encore the Christmas Store, please notice the picture behind our counter. It is of my mother walking down Indiana Avenue in the year of 1945!
